Research Overview

Dr Paul Cureton FRSA is group lead for the and (Assoc Prof.) at ImaginationLancaster, and a member of the Data Science and AI Institute (DSAIL). Paul is internationally recognised for his research into serious games, digital twins, and participatory methods for spatial planning. He is at the forefront of exploring the critical interface between new and emerging socio-technological relationships, such as Design for Digital Twins, Drone Futures, and innovative process-based methodologies for Future Environments like Geodesign. His recent publications include the monographs Geodesign, Urban Digital Twins, and Futures (Routledge, 2025) and Drone Futures: UAS for Landscape & Urban Design (Routledge, 2020).
