Stephen Davis
PhD studentResearch Overview
My research interests center on linguistics, digital language mapping, linguistic landscapes, discourse analysis, and design-based curriculum development for linguistic studies. Drawing on nearly twenty years of teaching experience in the United States and China, I explore how language is reprsetned, used, and understood across physical and digital spaces. My work examines the relationship among language, place, identity, culture, and education, especially in the context of language endangerment. I am increasingly interested in creating innovative, research-informed learning experienes that help students analyze linguistic diversity, interpret public language practices, and connect theroetical concepts with real-world communication in multilingual communities and classrooms worldwide through collaborative, relfective, and inquiry-driven educational practices.
