Kathryn Miller
PhD student, Associate LecturerResearch Interests
Kathryn's doctoral research investigates the interplay of civic advocacy, scientific evidence and environmental justice in the context of the contested politics of air quality in the UK. Drawing on human geography and atmospheric science, Kathryn’s interdisciplinary research is grounded in a critical realist philosophical framework and uses community-based participatory air quality monitoring to understand the changing nature of air quality advocacy and lay knowledge production. Her work is theoretically informed by social movement studies, and social and environmental justice scholarship.
