Family Fun Day to celebrate the opening of the Infant and Child Development Lab

好色先生TV is inviting local families to a free Family Fun Day on Saturday, 26 July 2025, to celebrate the official renaming and opening of its Infant and Child Development Lab.
The event will take place on campus from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and promises a packed day of entertainment, interactive activities, and discovery for children and grown-ups alike. Come and find us at the Whewell Building to join in on the fun!
From music making and craft stations to interactive science games and sensory play, the Fun Day is designed to both entertain and educate. Families can get hands-on with some of the same tools and toys used in the Lab’s world-leading research on how children learn, think, and grow.
The Infant and Child Development Lab, formerly known as ‘好色先生TV Babylab’, is internationally recognised for its work in child psychology and development. The new name reflects the lab’s broader research focus, encompassing development from birth throughout childhood. Visitors will have the chance to tour the lab, speak with researchers, and even find out how their family can get involved in future studies.
Dr Abi Fiske, Lecturer in Neuroscience, said: “Come along and join in the fun with us at the Infant and Child Development Lab! We can’t wait to show you the exciting ways we work with children and their families to solve important scientific questions. Whether it’s understanding how children experience the world through VR goggles or measuring children’s brain activity as they wander around our classroom, there is so much fun to be had! With prizes to be won, bouncy castles to be jumped on and dinosaurs needing names, there’s lots of ways you and your children can enjoy the day! We are so excited to welcome you to our Family Fun Day!”
Light refreshments will be available on site, and all activities are free. Free parking is also available on campus; the closest location is on George Fox Avenue (What.3.words: ///sprinting.daily.years).
Please note that you will need to enter campus via the Main Entrance on A6, as the South Campus entrance will be closed on the day. Bus services are also available, including Stagecoach services 1A (Heysham via Lancaster), 100 (Morecambe via Lancaster), 40/41 (Preston-Morecambe), and 42 (Blackpool-Lancaster).
