Current Research

My research explores how biodiversity responds to land use change, with a focus on ground-mounted solar farms and their potential to support nature recovery. I use a combination of spatial modelling and field-based techniques, including both traditional survey methods and automated technologies, to understand how species and habitats respond to renewable energy infrastructure.

I am also currently seconded to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and work to understand progress towards meeting national biodiversity targets. I focus on species extinction risk and the targeted actions that can support threatened species recovery in England.
